Being a New York Jets fan has never been easy. All three first-round picks have a real chance to make a major impact for the NY Jets in 2026. I’m especially excited to see what David Bailey brings at defensive end right away, and how Sadiq pairs up with Mason Taylor in those double–tight end formations. With newly hired Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich, Sadiq becomes an even more intriguing offensive weapon, and it’ll be fun to see the creative concepts Reich designs around him.

Lastly, Omar Cooper Jr. looks like he can be a strong second receiver, an A.G.-type threat on offense who isn’t afraid to take big hits and brings a gritty, dependable presence to the passing game. Reading tons of articles that Omar Cooper been killing it in practices so some very exciting news.

NY Jets Acquisitions

New York Jets desperately need leaders on this young team after trading some core players during the trade deadline last year. Smartly signed some veteran players that can fill weak needs especially on the defensive side of the ball as the Jets defense was atrocious last year.The Jets finished near the bottom of the league in (points allowed/sacks/takeaways—whichever stat fits). That’s exactly why rebuilding the defense became the front office’s top priority.

Genuinely excited with the moves they made in free agency as the signings can make the Jets competitive team in 2026/2027 season.

Football player I genuinely respect since his days of playing for Alabama is Minkah Fitzpatrick. One of the best safeties in the league as multiple time All-Pro defensive player known for his High IQ versatility playing safety, cornerback and nickel when needed. Minkah can do it all on the football field just pure athlete coming home to New Jersey as he played at NJ football powerhouse St Peters Prep.

Something you don’t see on the stat line is the leadership in the locker room. Love for him to teach the young guys the ways of being a professional.

Beyond just raving about Fitzpatrick, the Jets went all-in and brought back 15-year linebacker warrior Demario Davis for his third stint with Gang Green. They swung a deal for QB Geno Smith from the Las Vegas Raiders to finally bring some real stability under center—we’ll see if he can quiet the doubters once and for all. They didn’t stop there: the Jets signed one of the nastiest edge rushers on the NFL free agent market, Joseph Ossai, and added absolute dawg defensive tackle David Onyemata gives the Jets something they’ve lacked—a veteran interior defender who can stop the run while still generating pressure. His experience should also help develop the younger defensive linemen. And to cap it off, they flipped former Joe Douglas first-round pick Jermaine Johnson for 2024 All-Rookie nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat, a massive presence in the middle who screams culture change and win-now energy.
